Chris and I recently visited Vancouver, British Columbia for a quick getaway. When I tell you Vancouver is fabulous, it is FABULOUS!!! Chris and I both fell in love with this city, and I know I could happily live here. The shopping is great, the food is great, and the people are great. Unfortunately, it was raining on and off the entire weekend, but we put on our rain jackets and made the best of it. One of my favorite areas we visited was a neighborhood called Gastown. It was within walking distance to our hotel (our hotel was right downtown), and it was filled with cute boutiques, delicious restaurants, and had the most charming curb appeal. It had a very West Village, NYC feel. Swoon… Vancouver also has very large and very beautiful Chinatown!
I didn’t get as many pictures of downtown as I wanted, but we have already made plans to go back very soon, so I can fill in the gaps then. I did get pictures of some great areas outside of Vancouver, so I can share those with you. This city has so many layers that you cannot possibly do everything in a weekend. One place we visited was Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. WOW! So breathtaking!
I also linked some of the must-have fall essentials that I wore on this trip at the end of the post. 🙂
The picture above is the view from the suspension bridge. Over 200 feet in the air!
The picture below is THE MAIN EVENT… the Capilano Suspension Bridge! It was extremely shaky, and oh so fun! It was also WAAYYY longer than I anticipated!
The park’s filled with multiple suspended walkways to get from tree to tree. It was like a giant treehouse community!
Right in the middle of the park is warm and welcoming trading post. Stock up on souvenirs, sweets, and maple syrup!
Sweet sitting nooks all over!
The cutest little candy corner at the trading post.
We also went to Stanley Park, which was equally as wonderful! Miles and miles of park lining the water. So lovely!
The park has a great running/walking/biking trail that follows the water.
Gastown… one of our favorite areas in Vancouver. Great spot for local restaurants and boutiques!
This is pretty much the only downtown pic I got. The weather was so gross when were venturing around downtown, that is was difficult to get good pics. I’m not that great of a photographer. 😉
