Good Wednesday to you all! Half the week down, WOOHOO!
Operation “Get Our Move On” has officially started. You should see our garage right now…on second thought, no you shouldn’t because it’s a disaster zone. Boxes everywhere!
I was cleaning out some of the files on my computer when I happened upon these, realizing that I never posted them. I have such an obsession for denim that I’m surprised I never did. Oh life, why must you get in the way? 😉 Regardless, better late than never, right? Quality denim is one of the few things I actually splurge on. Jeans made from high caliber materials are truly worth the money. The first pair of “high-end” jeans I bought was a pair of 7 For All Mankind back in 2003. To this day, they still look and feel great. I’m not saying there aren’t companies out there that are pumping out great products for a lesser price, I’m just encouraging you to do a little research before you swipe that card. Reading customer reviews is a great way to get an idea on how a pair will fit and continue to fit throughout the day, or even throughout the years. Discount stores such a Nordstrom Rack, Off Saks 5th Avenue, and even TJ Maxx, are also awesome places to find high-dollar jeans for a fraction of the price. These J Brand jeans featured in today’s post are one of my absolute favorite pairs. They have just the right amount of stretch so they never loose shape. Not much is worse than when you get “butt sag” because your jeans have stretched out throughout the course of the day. I’m happy to say that these bad boys have never let me down in that department.
I’m also in love with the style. For those of you that may not know me quite as well, I am absolutely obsessed with 70’s fashion. It is my FAVORITE fashion decade. I love everything from the bohemian looks of the 70’s to the over the top Studio 54 glam styles. These jeans give me a little of that 70’s vibe from the super flared bottoms to the high waist (I realize you can’t tell they are high-waisted. I’ll do another post that highlights that.) Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of skinny or boyfriend jeans, but this silhouette is a great alternative to have in your denim arsenal. The major plus… flared jeans are very slimming! Who doesn’t love looking slimmer?!?!
Lastly, the sleeveless chambray blazer is a nice compliment to the flared bottoms. It continues the long and lean feel that the jeans emit. Also, I am a huge lover of the denim on denim look.
I hope you feel inspired to try a new denim style. I have also included some of my favorite pairs that are in stores now. Happy shopping!!!
My little furry friends are Kitty Pearl (left) and Sir William. They just couldn’t stay away.
My sweet little Pearly girl needed her own moment. 😉
