Man, oh man! This past year has been quit the adventure! It’s hard to sum it up in one post, but I will do my very best!
Just before the start of 2016, Chris, the pups and I had just moved to a new state (Washington). In addition to moving across the country (literally), we have done tons of traveling, made some amazing friends, joined an incredible church family, oh, and I was on the cover of a national magazine! CRAZY!
I had actually stopped blogging at the beginning of the year. I won’t go into why just yet. 😉 I didn’t start the blog back up until June, and I’m so glad I did. I rediscovered why I wanted to start it to begin with, and I absolutely love it again! It continues to be an outlet of passion, creativity, and therapy.
Reflecting on this past year, I have definitely encountered ups and downs. Some of the downs were worse than I could have ever imagined (death and depression to give my hardship a name), but with struggle comes strength, and I definitely have come to know the company of strength, growth, and confidence. This past year has been a “teaching” year, and boy have I learned a lot. Humility has become one of my best friends as I try to continuously surround myself with those that are “better” than me. By doing that, I have learned so much, and continue to do so. It really has been a wonderful year, and I truly plan on continuing this same behavior. I’m excited for what 2017 has to bring, and I’m ready for it!
BUT, like I said before, reflection is a good thing. It’s always good to reflect on what went well and what you can improve on. With that being said, I have rounded up my favorite looks from the past year (just click on each picture to go to the post), and below that are some of my favorite Instagram posts from the year.

::Top Instagram moments::
These are some of my favorite Insta moments from this past year!
I have to start off with what is probably my favorite moment from the year… being a covergirl for Redbook Magazine! I can’t even tell you how ecstatic I was when I found out I was one of the winners of the Real Women Style Awards. Winning this contest was really the main reason I started blogging again. I stopped because I was allowing other’s negative influence to take over my desire to do what I truly felt driven to do. So, as you can imagine, winning a style contest was kind of like a kick in the butt, saying “Yes, I am good at this. So, if it’s a passion, and I love it, then I shouldn’t care what others think and just DO IT!” So, needless to say, I DID IT, and it has been going great ever since. I will tell you, running a blog (which is like a full time job) and teaching middle school (also full time), can be stressful, but even every stressful moment is worth it. We all have many hats to wear, right?! We just learn to juggle it all, and hopefully do it with grace.

Los Angeles
These Insta-pics are from our visit to LA. We has an absolute blast, and I got some really cool pics from it!
San Antonio
These next few pics are from our trip to San Antonio. So, I LOVE this city! Chris and I could totally live here! I also shot two of my favorite looks of the year here. 🙂
Washington State
Washington State has some amazing natural attractions! (The 1st pic is Mt. Saint Helens and the 2nd is from hiking around Mt. Rainer.)
Ricardo comes to Capital Christian
I have the BEST church family, and when Ricardo Sanchez comes to your church to teach, help, guide, minister to, and worship with you and the rest of the worship team, well, it’s kind of a big deal! This was definitely an awesome moment!
Healthy Body
This pic signifies the beginning of my dedication to a healthy body. Since then, fitness has been a priority in my life, and I definitely feel the positive results from it, and not just with physical appearance, but also joint health and energy. I had started posting workout videos via Instagram, but I’ve kind of slacked on that. I promise to continue to do that again. 😉
Victoria
The following pics are from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This is another city I could definitely live in. Great food, great shopping, and great people! I can’t wait to post this trip on the blog!
Vancouver
These are from another one of our Canada trips, Vancouver. Man, I didn’t realize how much I would love Canada, but I do! This is a definite place to go if you have never been!
New Day Northwest
These are from a tv fashion segment I did for King 5’s New Day Northwest. My friends were my models, and I think we all had a blast! So fun!
Lastly, thank you so much for following along in my journey to make this little hobby something much more. I love your comments and your input more than you know! I’m so excited about this new year, and I can’t wait to see what new adventures come our way!
Much love!
xoxo,
Megan
