With most of us continuing to work from home, comfort still rules the fashion game. The summer months brought us lots of cute sets in LOTS of tie dye. But, as the weather begins to shift, so should our idea of what stylish loungewear looks like. Lets take what we’ve learned this summer, and elevate it; pairing pieces that merge comfort with polish. Looks that can tackle all your work-from-home obligations and have you ready to jet out the door for a quick errand. Studies have shown that when you feel more put together, you are more productive in a day. So, there ya go… science.
I was fortunate to speak with Joanna Heims of CBS Raleigh’s My Carolina about what elevated loungewear looks like. Keep reading to see the fun looks I brought to the show. All of these looks are from local Raleigh clothing boutiques Uniquites and Voda. You can shop all of these pieces there.
Also, once I have the segment link, I’ll add it to this post.
The Matching Set
Sets are not going anywhere any time soon, but for a chicer take on the trend, look for sets with a ribbed texture and nuetral colors. This gives the pieces an expensive look, even if the items were inexpensive to purchase.

Wide Leg Pant and Blazer
Don’t get me wrong… leggings are still in my work-from-home rotation, but a different pant silhouette is refreshing. Wide leg pants are just as comfortable, and offer a different, more sophisticated vibe for your WFH look. Pair them with a cute graphic tee to continue the high comfort level, and then when its time for that Zoom call, throw on a blazer! This entire look is chic, elevated, and obviously extremely comfortable. Lastly, adding lots of gold chain necklaces gives it a pulled together edginess.

Edginess With Biker Shorts
Biker shorts are such a perfect transition piece as we move from summer to fall. I hear so many women say they can’t pull off biker shorts, and I immediately tell them “YES YOU CAN!’ They are like a clothing chameleon; they adapt to whatever they’re paired with, but they always add a nice does of edge to every look. I love this look on Kiara. It has a very rock-n-roll vibe with the combat boots, graphic tee, and neon poncho. However, if this isn’t your style, pair them with cute sneakers and an oversized sweater. I’ve also worn them with a white button-up shirt and a blazer for polished look. I’m telling ya… you NEED a pair of these in your wardrobe.
I also want to point out the insanely cute mask and mask chain that Kiara has on with this look. The chain is from a local Raleigh jewelry maker, Shop Bofemme.

A Knit Dress
Say YES to a dress for a great WFH piece. People automatically think about pant options, but knit midi dress is just as comfortable and instantly makes you look and feel pulled together. Look for dresses in neutral colors and with a ribbed, knit material. Once again, this combo gives the dress an elevated, chic vibe. Adding multiple gold necklaces makes you ready for that Zoom call, and throw on some sneakers and a relaxed denim jacket for when you need to head out of the door.

The Untraditional Jogger Pant
I loooove a great pair of joggers. There’s an athletic edginess to them, and the are definitely comfortable. Now that we’ve all stocked up the basic cotton pair, it’s time to elevate this silhouette with a fall ready material. These faux leather joggers from Voda are the perfect update to this style, and add major style points. The high waist makes them perfect for a cropped sweater, like the one Kiara is wearing, or front tuck an over-sized sweater or graphic tee!

I watched you on My Carolina the other day. I loved your top and shoes! Can you let me know where you found these?
Thank you
Hi Christine! Thank you so much for watching my segment! My floral turtleneck is from Ganni and it’s part of their new fall collection. My blazer is by Good American and I found it recently at Nordstrom. My shoes are Kenneth Cole, but unfortunately they are from a past season. Let me know if you need help finding any item! Thanks again!
